Why do I travel?
I travel for the simplest reason in the world, I love it. I find it stimulating to walk in the footsteps of the past and learn about historical perspectives that have created our current world. In history class, you learn about things. But they become real when you are at the place that they actually happen. For explain, I never understood how large Gettysburg battle field was until I visited. Or how far down Niagara Falls were until I hike down to the bottom of the river. Or how small many Forts on the Frontier actually are!
I love learning about things that are new to me. The cultures, landscapes, history, animals, and finding the heartbeat that goes with them. I have lived in California, Alaska, Hawaii, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and a few other states. I find that each place has a different underling culture that goes with them and even different depending if you are in a city, country, or beach community. I love finding that underling culture and if possible, what historical events and/or what geologic features make people that way.
I find inspiration and motivation to learn about the world when I meet new people and talk with them about their culture and lifestyles. I find that as different as we are, most of us what the same things in life. To be happy and enjoy those moments in life that makes it worth working to get those moments.
I love smelling the air which is so different in different city vs the mountains vs the mountains. I love being part of the world that I am visiting for a moment. But most importantly, most of the time it just makes me happy and stimulates joy deep down inside me!
Join me as I travel around looking for great sights, lighthouses, waterfalls, history, museums, the local flavor, meeting people from different cultures, and more. I also love reading and will be adding in my thoughts on some of the classic books that I listen as I drive down the road in my Dodge Sprinter Van.
Note: I am dyslexia. You might find miss spelled word or incorrect grammar. Sorry in advance but as much as I review my writing, I always miss something.
